This past Summer we assisted an eCommerce client in a full migration from a Magento eCommerce installation to a WordPress / WooCommerce installation. The goal was simple — to achieve a faster and easier-to-manage eCommerce site for our client. This project was unique because we were picking up where another developer had (unsuccessfully) left off.
After all of the Magento product, customer and sales data had been migrated over to WooCommerce, prior to completing the full transition, we were asked to assess the performance of the entire WordPress installation and implement theme and plugin optimizations where needed.
This process began with a thorough review of the ThemeForest theme that the previous developer had purchased, along with all of the free and premium plugins that had either come bundled with or were required to be installed by the theme.
